Easter Antics

Well it's that time of the year again .. chocolate, chocolate, and MORE chocolate!

Easter Friday saw us on the road to the Gold Coast in order to spend time with Kaleb's Nanny, Poppy, Aunty Demii and Uncle Jaiden. Kaleb's Aunty Nat from Sydney came up for the occasion too and he was really excited and happy to see her!

We started Easter Sunday by snuggling up in bed for a few cuddles then waited patiently for everyone to join us in the Family Room. Kaleb was given a pair of new Bob the Builder pj's, a Hot Wheels car/egg gift set and a milk carton of Humpty Dumpty eggs. He really enjoyed unwrapping his (and everyone else's!!) eggs!

Gorgeous Bunny-Eared Boy!

Ice-cream all round on our Easter Sunday picnic...

Our picnic was at Cleveland Point, a wonderful outcrop near the departure point to Stradbroke Island.. lots of grass, sand and play equipment with a fantastic fish and chips store. Kaleb couldn't wait to tuck into his ice-cream, he really loves ice-cream.

I hope you all enjoyed your Easter break as much as we did!

Kaleb - 25 months.

For starters, we've settled into our new home quite well - it's been a month since we moved and things couldn't be better! I started work for the Brisbane City Council in their Customer Service Centre - I'm a Public Servant now LOL

Kaleb has been in Family DayCare during that time and I'm happy to say, despite some setbacks, that he's doing fantastically well and settling into the new care environment in record time! He is with a lovely Fillipino woman named Elsie who adores him. She looks after a brother and sister aswell as Kaleb gets on with them like he would his own brother and sister!

He is getting to be such a big boy now -- still tall and skinny, like his grandfather, but still holding onto those chubby thighs that I love so much. He is due for a ECHN in the coming few weeks so we will then officially know how tall/heavy he is. My guess would be 15kgs and 92cms. Time will tell if I'm right!

His language skills are improving every day and I can now understand the vast majority of what he says. His latest obsessive phrase is "What is that?" and "Quick!".. he especially likes to use "Quick!" when we're sitting in afternoon traffic on the way home.

He's been sleeping in his toddler bed for the entire month and on only one occasion has he tried to get out.. I think it had more to do with a nightmare he was having than for reasons of escapism just for the sake of it.

Kaleb loves to sit on the stairs

Happy Birthday Kaleb

Time for the birthday update!

Kaleb's birthday was on Sunday, February 24th. It was a fantastic day, apart from my catching a stomach bug and missing most of it :( Kaleb had all his family around -- no birthday party as I was in the midst of moving from the Gold Coast to Brisbane.

The cake was decorated with a Wiggles cake-topper and Kaleb enjoyed every bite of it.

He was sent lots and lots of lovely presents but his best gift was his Aunt Janelle coming up from Tasmania to celebrate with him .. she is currently 6mths pregnant with his little girl cousin. He loved to sit on the couch poking her tummy and laughing! His nanna and poppy gave him a brand new bike and a trip to the hairdressers.. Mummy bought him (again) way too many gifts .. he now has a Dress Me Elmo, Shapes truck, Fisher Price Pirate Ship, matchbox cars, a Winnie the Pooh toddler bed with Pooh Bear throw rug, Fisher Price dump truck and more clothes than I care to mention LOL

His first night in the toddler bed was our first night at the new house and he fell asleep immediately and remained there for the entire night! I fully expected him to wake up and try a Houdini but it wasnt the case at all .. he really love his bed -- Ive even had to wake him up once or twice he sleeps that deeply in it :)

I have some photos from the past few weeks to share with you:
